Horticulture Class Lesson of the Week

Our lesson this week was about fertilizer, pH levels and how to test for a pH level. we looked at 5 different fertilizers and took a bit of notes on each one. the lime fertilizer has metals that improve the soil texture and improves root development, also it is very high in calcium. Ferti-lome is a root stimulant and is used for flowers, shrubs, trees, and house plants. Finally fish mix which is good for the growth of plants. pH level is basically the measurement of how much acidity is in the soil. the scale is 0-14, 0 is high addity and 14 is basic. When testing for pH levels in soil there will be colors such as red, blue and greenish yellow. Red means high acidity and blue means basic, the neutral color is probably going to be greenish yellow.
