imageDuring class on March 30th, we took chicken outside in the green house. We saw that pill bugs were starting to infest our bed of carrots and lettuce. As we were thinking about how to get ride of them, Lynn and Lindley thought it would be a good idea to put chicken in the bed.

As soon as we put chicken in the bed she started to eat all of the pill bugs; which is really good. Pull bugs mostly feed on decaying vegetative waste. But during damp springs when seeds germinate, pill bugs can mow down an entire bed of emerging seedling in a single night.

After chicken got done eating all the pill bugs, she gave herself a little bath. She would dig herself into the dirt, then open her wings and stick the dirt up and under them. She would then fluff her wings to make sure she got it all under her feathers.
