Today on this chilly and partly sunny day in April, we planted some carrots, radishes, and arugula. Because we have had issues with carrot flies, stray cats digging up the beds, and birds searching the soil for seeds, we decided to cover the beds with a cloche, or a hoop tunnel. This will hopefully give out baby plants time to grow strong! One thing we will have to look out for is pill bugs, or rolly pollies, as they have been more apt to munch on seedlings lately.
